Since 1999, Majella has been working with children and their families. In 2007, she became a qualified Social Work Practitioner, and throughout her career, she has gained extensive experience in the public, private, and independent sectors. During her time at the Care Agency in Gibraltar, Majella played a crucial role in the development of Fostering Services, Recruitment of Foster Carers, and the establishment of protocols for children entering care. She has also acquired expertise in working with individuals of all ages who have mental health issues and intellectual disabilities. This led to her appointment as the Head of Disability Services in Gibraltar from 2019 to 2021.
Majella has worked independently as a Social Worker and holds CORU Registration. She has been appointed by the District, Circuit, and High Courts of Ireland, as well as the Magistrate and Supreme Court of Gibraltar. Additionally, Majella has provided support in various Criminal Cases at the Central Criminal Court, acting as an Advocate/Intermediary, particularly for children and vulnerable adults.
